Art Exhibitions on show over festive season

NELSON Mandela Bay is offering alternative entertainment options this festive season with two exhibitions on show at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum in Park Drive.

Holiday makers and locals are in for a treat with the exhibition "Empty Vessels?" which showcases beautiful ceramic objects from the city’s art collections.

Who’s who and what’s new? features a little something for all tastes with one hundred and sixteen art works by local artists in a variety of media. Most of the works are for sale or visitors may place a bid on the silent auction organised by the Friends of the Art Museum.

Bidding closes at noon on Friday 23 January 2009.

Opening times are Monday to Friday 09h00-18h00 (Closed Tuesday mornings), Saturdays and Sundays 13h00-17h00, Public Holidays 14h00-17h00 and the first Sunday of the month 09h00-14h00.

The Art Museum will be closed on Christmas Day 25 December 2008, 1 January 2009 (New Year’s Day) and 2 January 2009.
