City Institutions and Integration

The South African Cities Network’s focus on institutions and integration in the built environment follows the recommendation from the State of Cities Report IV that spatial transformation is about more than understanding spatial relationships and requires changes in power and politics, institutions and intergovernmental relations and management skills and capacity. This area of work is driven by a community of built environment city practitioners called the Built Environment Integration Task Team (BEITT).
