The South African Cities Network (SACN) and the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), in collaboration with partners such as the World Resources Institute, the GIZ’s Natural Resources Stewardship Programme (NatuReS), and the USAID WASH-FIN Program, are hosting the fifth (5th) instalment of the Water Resilient Cities series of learning events to mark the end of Water Month 2022.

Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible will be the topic of this learning event, which will coincide with World Water Day 2022. Despite the fact that groundwater supplies about half of the world’s drinking water, it is often misunderstood, mistreated, and poorly managed. The partners are bringing together diverse African city perspectives and experiences on sustainable groundwater governance techniques and the role of groundwater in boosting water resilience in cities to better understand this precious resource and vast reservoir. Save the date for an engaging and informative session.
